Nicki Minaj performed a free concert last night in New York to make up for what happened at Summer Jam a few months ago.
Nick brought the whole YMCMB crew with her and even performed with Camron. One of the hottest moments of the night was when Nicki brought Foxy Brown onto the stage and paid homage to the Brooklyn MC.
“Broken Silence changed my fuckin’ life,” Nicki told the crowd. “I always loved Foxy but when she put out Broken Silence I knew [she] was an innovator, an intelligent, beautiful, feisty, crazy sometimes, but ahead of your time.”
Foxy and Nick have been friends for a while now. I wonder if we will ever get a track with both of these ladies on it.
During the Young Money set Drake and Wayne performed their smash “The Motto” for the crowd.
Drake is not only one of the hottest artists right now, Drizzy also does double duty as a celebrity impersonator. In this video with TIm Weswood Drake impersonates his boss Lil Wayne. Check out this hilarious video. Drake seems to hit a home run when it comes to impersonating the Young Money CEO.
The Cash Money Pre Grammy party was full of appearances and performances from the YMCMB family. Lil Wayne pays homage to his label mates, has a moment of silence for Whitney Houston and then proceeds to throw a shot at The Throne.
At the 3:45 mark Wayne says…
“I met a bad red bone, I took the bitch home, I asked her what she want to watch, she said surely not, “The Throne.”
SMH at how he dropped the mic and walked off like he really spit some hot fiya….
And in other news…Weezy and Drake performed “Hell Yeah” and “The Motto” the same night.
Lil Wayne is turning his prison stay on Rikers Island into a positive project. Wayne is publishing a new memoir entitled “Gone TIll November” which will consist of his diary entries from his 8 month bid.
Grand Central Publishers will publish the book which has a November 28 release date.
Weezy should have a lot to talk about. Readers would be interested to hear about prison guards holding him down, the rise of Young Money artists Drake and Nicki Minaj, and how he stayed relevan while locked up.
Well damn…I didn’t know that debuting at number 1 on the Billboard charts and selling over 700,000 copies of your sophomore album in the first week was a reason to clean house, but obviously Drake disagrees with me.
The 25-year-old rapper has decided to cut ties with his management team over at Hip Hop Since 1978 including Gee Roberson, Al Branch, Kyambo Joshua and Cortez Bryant. This is the same team that manages Hip Hop stars Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
According to sources “Drake just felt like there were too many hands in his pockets”
I think it’s only a matter of time before we see Drizzy sever ties with the rest of the Young Money crew.
Birdman surprised his “son” Lil Wayne with an extravagant birthday cake for his 29th born day. It looks like the cake has diamonds on it. It actually doesn’t even look like a cake but more so like some type of expensive jewelry box. I’m sure the #1 Stunna spent plenny of money on this one.
During the Femme Fatale tour’s stop in Toronto Nicki Minaj surprised the audience with a guest appearance from Drizzy Drake. Nicki and Drake hit the stage and got their freak on during Nicki’s performance of ‘Super Bass’
In the video below Nicki and Drake perform “Moment For Life” together.
