SHOWTIME SAYS…
This is one of my favorite songs from Jill Scott’s “The Light Of The Sun” CD. In her new video Jill lets us know how abundantly ‘Blessed’ she is.
Jilly from Philly also directed the clip herself.
Jill Scott talked to Sister 2 Sister magazine about being “dickmatized” (that phrase alone made me LOL)..But I digress…Miss Jill says that she was once in a situation where the loving was so good that she didn’t want to go anywhere even though she knew the relationship was done.
On what it means to be ‘dickmatized’:
Where you get caught up in the whole sexuality of your relationship but it’s not going anywhere… Just somebody giving you the goods but not necessarily giving you the rest—or not expecting the rest from them.On strictly sexual relationships:
What I’ve discovered is, although it may be a lot of fun, it is also a waste of time and you might be blocking your blessing—blocking somebody who wants to be more to you than just a great time in your life.On HOW she broke away from the d*ck leash:
Just realizing what I have to offer. I’m so much more than my flesh!
Leave a comment and let me know…
Singer Jill Scott who released her new CD “‘The Light of the Sun” today has revealed one of the reasons that her marriage to husband Lyzelll Williams didn’t last. Scott says that while married, her husband would refuse to eat her food if he was upset with her about something.
One of the reasons my ex-husband and I broke up is that he stopped eating my food. He was pissed (off) for other reasons, but the best way to show me was by leaving what I’d made for him uneaten for days on the kitchen counter. It was a smack in the face”.
There aint too much that can piss a black woman off more than not eating the food she cooked for you, SMH…Lyzell obviously wanted out of the marriage, and knew exactly how to get out.
Jilly’s new CD has been getting a lot of good reviews. I plan on heading over to Itunes to pick it up…You should support good music and do the same.
