Birdman surprised his “son” Lil Wayne with an extravagant birthday cake for his 29th born day. It looks like the cake has diamonds on it. It actually doesn’t even look like a cake but more so like some type of expensive jewelry box. I’m sure the #1 Stunna spent plenny of money on this one.
In an interview with XXL Magazine, Birdman talks about the new colloboration CD from Drake and Lil Wayne. Reading the excerpts from the interview I can sense that Birdman is throwing a couple of jabs at Jay and Ye. Especially when he says that they are “on their way out of the game”
It’s funny to me hearing Baby talk about somebodys age when he is 87 years old his damn self.
“It’s older versus younger,” Baby said. “I listened to a few songs [off Watch The Throne] and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it’s two different types of music all the way across the board.
“But what they’re doing is great,” he added. “I think it’s great for the game, great for the business, great for retail as a whole. I just think when Wayne and Drake get together is going to be something real special also because we more youthful.”
Birdman covers the newest issue of XXL magazine. According to Baby, one of the best business decisions that he ever made was giving Lil Wayne his own label. Giving Wayne the freedom to start a label was one of many smart business decisions that Birdman has made. He talks about those business moves and more in the article.
“When I look around, through my years and my time, you know, the game, it was a lot in the field, a lot of people doing it,” he says. “And I look around, and it’s like, where the fuck did everybody go? I ain’t never understood that, but the game like that sometimes, that muthafucka’s gon’ keep ya or it’s gon’ leave ya. It’s all on you.”
“Honestly, I gave him the floor,” Baby says of Weezy. “He wanted it. I been with him since he was seven years old, eight years old. I been in his life all of his life, and he was like, “Let me handle, it.” At the time, me as an artist, losing my sister and everything I was going through personally, I was just like, ‘Go ahead, I’ma just support what you gon’ do. You can handle it.’ And I took a step back. Probably was the smartest move I ever made in my life was to let him go ‘head.”
Birdman and his Cash Money records crew have never been known to really beef with any other labels. But, The 5 Star General is giving Lil Kim fair warning that she may want to back off of Nicki Minaj. Of course, Nicki is a Young Money/Cash Money artist and is making Birdman a lot of money right now…Check out what he had to say in a recent interview.
“I think Kim just need to do her and stop messing around with Nicki and do her own thing. We’ve always been focused on the music and Nicki is the hottest thing in the game, nothing is gonna change that!”
Gucci Mane is about $20,000 lighter after making a bet with Birdman on this past weekend’s NFC playoff game. The Falcon’s were defeated by a score of 48-21 when they faced the Green Bay Packers Saturday night.
Gucci took to Twitter to wage war with anyone who wanted to bet against his hometown Atlanta Falcons. Well, Birdman took Gucci up on the bet and now Gucci owes Birdman $20,000. Check the tweets below.
