For those of you who have followed my career over the last 10 years, you already know that I have a strong commitment to the community, and also a strong desire to lay a solid foundation for the next generation of leaders and difference makers. Throughout my career in radio I have always had the desire to do things that have an impact and leave a lasting legacy for those who will come after me. It is because of this desire to make a difference and be a positive role model for young people around the world that I have decided to take a more active role in changing the world that we live in.As of today (December 3, 2012) I will be working with The Family Resource Center of Raleigh in North Carolina as an Education Case Manager for Project P.U.L.S.E. (People Using Life Skills Effectively). In this new role I will be educating young people and adults about the importance of healthy relationships and providing them with tools to navigate their way through life’s choices and down a path of good decision making.
It is my desire to use my influence to make a difference, and I feel that this new position will allow me to do so in a manner unlike any other. I am grateful to Kim Best, Vernita Griffith and Lorraine McCurdy for giving me the opportunity to work with such a wonderful organization. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to spread the importance of healthy relationships to any and everyone that I come in contact with.
I will continue with my role as on air personality for Radio One’s WQOK in Raleigh, as well as blogger at thesinglefathersblog.com. I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from my Showtimesays.com, but it will be relaunching in early 2013 with a new look and all new content.
